Kaka wants AC Milan to start shopping

March 15, 2008

kakaacmilan.jpg Reports are out that AC Milan midfield maestro Kaka has called on his club to bring in more young players in the mould of fellow Brazilian Alexandre Pato to the club.

The World Player of the Year said that Milan has to understand that the current cycle is ending and that they must begin another one. Kaka also went on to add that the day will come when all the players will have to end their careers which also includes him.

The Brazilian also went on to add that Milan must sign young players who can absorb the winning mentality in order to make the club as successful as the current squad and over a long period of time of those who are already here and develop them in the same manner.

Kaká began his club career with São Paulo at the age of eight. He signed a contract at 15 and led the SPFC youth squad to Copa de Juvenil glory. Kaká made his senior side debut in January 2001 and scored 12 goals in 27 appearances, in addition to leading São Paulo to its first and only Torneio Rio-São Paulo championship. He scored 10 in 22 matches the following season, and by this time his performance was soon attracting attention from European clubs.

AC Milan, fresh from winning the 2003 Champions League, brought him aboard in 2003 for $8.5 million, a fee described in hindsight as “peanuts” by club owner Silvio Berlusconi. Within a month, he cracked the starting lineup, and has remained there ever since.

AC Milan give up Ronaldinho chase

January 15, 2008

ronaldinho1.jpg

Reports are out that Italian super agent Enzo Bronzetti is convinced Barcelona will sell Ronaldinho to Chelsea at the end of the season. The report also added that Bronzetti, who has close ties to Barca, admitted that AC Milan’s interest in Ronaldinho had gone cold as they are convinced he will be in London in June.

It is also said that Barcelona were ready to talk about Gianluca Zambrotta and Ronaldinho, but Milan believe that the Brazilian play maker will be moving to Chelsea eventually. This means that Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has effectively called off their pursuit of Ronaldinho, so leaving the way clear for Chelsea to sign the Brazilian uncontested.
