Chelsea make big-money bid for AC Milan´s Kaka
July 8, 2008
ROME (AFP) - Chelsea have put a big-money offer on the table for Brazilian playmaker Kaka, AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said Sunday, without giving further details of the proposed deal.
"An astronomical offer has come in from Chelsea for Kaka," Galliani told Italian newspaper La Stampa, adding that club have also expressed interest in the club’s World Cup winner Andrea Pirlo.
Despite failing to qualify for the Champions League, Galliani insisted the Rossoneri have been continuing to strengthen their squad and increase players’ salaries.
"This means we’ll be 50 million euros (78 million dollars) in the red," he said, adding: "All we would need to do in order to wipe out our debts is sell Kaka and Pirlo."
AC Milan have been linked with various players in the close season, including Barcelona duo Samuel Eto’o and Ronaldinho, and Arsenal’s unsettled star Emmanuel Adebayor.

AC Milan wants Shevchenko to partner Ronaldinho in attack
April 14, 2008
Sensational transfer news are coming from Italy and it is reported that AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed that he plans to open talks with English giants Chelsea in a bid to take former striker Andriy Shevchenko back to the San Siro.
It is believed that the Ukraine striker is desperately wanted at Milan even though has struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge since moving to England from Milan in 2006.
It is reported that Galliani is keen to see him return and possibly form a strike partnership with Brazilian superstar Ronaldinho, whose agent is reportedly in talks with the Italian side over a summer move from Barcelona.
Galliani also said to the media that there is a high possibility that Chelsea striker Shevchenko will also arrive but added that the Italian side will have to talk to Chelsea first before anything can materialize.
Shevchenko has spent seven wonderful years with AC Milan and he subsequently became the club’s second all-time goalscorer before his dreaded move to Stamford Bridge.
Will Shevchenko be able to combine and link well with the Brazilian Ronaldinho? Both players are great professionals and is gifted with great talent. I believe this combination will be explosive and Milan will be able to revive the great name of Andriy Shevchenko once again.
