David Beckham earns praise from football legend Pele

beckham_back_1.jpg Reports are out and it is reported that Brazil legend Pele has hailed the impact made on the game by England’s 100-cap veteran David Beckham.

Beckham finally reached the milestone when he played the opening 63 minutes of the 1-0 defeat against France in Paris last night and the player has spoken of his pride at becoming only the fifth player to earn 100 caps for England and reiterated his desire to continue playing under new coach Fabio Capello.

Pele said that when there are talks about great players, it’s not easy to get a player who is a great on the field and an example off the field, referring to the LA Galaxy midfielder.

The football legend also went on to add that England has got a lot of good players but looking at the behaviour of Davis Beckham and his performance on the field, that is the best example for the youngsters who wants to achieve greatness in their footballing careers.

Pele also went on to say that Beckham is still good enough to play for England and that he would always pick him for his team because he is a very intelligent player.

Bernd Schuster declares his interest in Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

huntelaar.jpg Sensational news are out and it is reported that Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has openly declared his interest in Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.

It is believed that the Holland international striker is under consideration by Real Madrid ahead of the summer market and Schuster declared: “Dutch football is very well known for exporting players of such class. He is the type of player which any team in the world would like to have.

Schuster also added that from what he knows, the level of Huntelaar is comparable with players of the stature of Cruyff, Van Basten and Van Nistelrooy. Schuster also wne on to add that regarding next season, Huntelaar certainly would enter his plans.

Real Madrid offer De la Red plus 8 million pounds for Xabi Alonso

xabi-alonso.jpg Transfer news are out and it is reported that Real Madrid are ready to offer Ruben de la Red to Liverpool in their bid for midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Media report says that Real is willing offer De la Red(below) plus £8 million for Xabi at the end of the season.

De La Red, 22, was previously sold for £2m but Real Madrid inserted a clause allowing them to buy him back this summer for £3.5m.

And it is now believed that the Spanish giants are planning to use De La Red as bait to land Spanish international midfielder Alonso, 26.

A Real insider said: “It is a case of the club deciding whether to keep De La Red or to try and get Alonso. The Liverpool player is the one they have wanted to sign for a long time.”

Man City targets Barca starlet Dos Santos

dossantos.jpg Reports are out that Manchester City have expressed an interest in Barcelona’s 18-year-old forward Giovani dos Santos. This is according to the father of the young player, Zizinho.

Mexico international Dos Santos broke into Barcelona’s senior squad last season, but the rise of fellow young star Bojan Krkic has limited his appearances in the Catalan giants’ starting XI this year.

The player’s father told the media that there is an interest from English side Manchester City but said he cannot give further details as Giovani’s agent is the one who is in charge of all this and that it’s him who is dealing with negotiations.

Zizinho also added that he can’t say for sure if Dos Santos will play for another team and that his son is currently concentrating on Barcelona as there is a few more games left to play for this season.

Dos Santos has played 25 times for the Spanish giants this season in all competitions, scoring once in a Champions League game with Stuttgart.

Piet Velthuizen to replace Edwin Van Der Sar?

pietvelthuizen.jpg Piet Velthuizen is a Dutch football player who currently plays for Dutch side Vitesse.

Velthuizen is a goalkeeper who was born in Nijmegen and made his debut in professional football, being part of the Vitesse squad in the 2006-07 season. According to media reports, he is, as of 2008, among the most promising goalkeepers in Europe.

He broke into the Vitesse first team in the 2007-08 season, when he signed a contract extension until 2011. His displays brought him to the attention of an Arsenal F.C. scout, who watched him in a league game. Velthuizen received his first call-up to the Dutch squad on March 21, 2008 for the friendly match against Austria.

Will Velthuizen be the next big thing coming out of Holland?I’m sure big clubs across Europe is watching this exciting young talent and i believe it will only be a matter of time before Velthuizen plays for a big European club as this player has the talent and presence to get the job done.
