Valencia is desperate for Jose Mourinho

Reports are out that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is being sought after by crisis club Valencia. It is said that Valencia is in desperate need of help and they believe that Jose Mourinho is the right person to get the job done.
It is also reported that Mourinho has asked for a few days to think over the offer which was communicated to him yesterday. It is also believed that Mourinho is desperate to get back to work with immediate effect but is still contractually prevented from operating in England until next season
Former La Liga champions Valencia are just five points above the relegation zone and is in desperate need for a quick fix. They have slumped since the appointment of Dutchman Ronald Koeman as boss just two months ago.

Arsene Wenger targets Wolfsburg prospect Dzeko

Reports are out that Wolfsburg’s young Bosnian talent Edin Dzeko is attracting interest from Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger is keen on signing the talented young striker.
The report also added that Arsenal are tracking the progress of Edin Dzeko and Gunners coach Boro Primorac is very impressed with what he has seen so far. Primorac also added that Edin is the kind of forward that could succeed in The Premiership. He also added that its not sure whether Arsenal will sign him, but his performance gets better every day.
Edin is currently a player on the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team and was a former player of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national under-21 football team. He made his senior debut against Turkey on June 2, 2007.
It was a dream debut for the youngster that he capped off with a wicked right-footed (he is primarily left-footed) volley from the edge of the box during first half stoppage time. The goal leveled the score at 2-2. Bosnia went on to win 3-2. Edin Dzeko also played in the Bosnia match against Malta and gave a magnificent assist. Since Džeko’s performance in the game against Turkey, he is widely regarded as the most promising young Bosnian player at only 21 years of age.

United new boy Manucho scores twice past Senegal

Manchester United bound Manucho Gonçalves scored twice as Angola made a come back in the second half to beat favourites Senegal 3-1 in a 2008 African Nations Cup Group D clash.The shock result lifted Angola to the top of the group with four points and left Senegal needing a victory against South Africa Thursday to have any hope of reaching the knockout phase.
Manucho had successful trials with English Premiership champions United last month and received a lot of praise from manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Manucho now needs a work permit to realise his childhood dream of moving to Old Trafford.
Manucho began his football career at Flamenguinhos, a small youth football club from Terra Nova, Luanda, where he lived. Under the guidance of his coach and father, Alberto Gonçalves, Manucho started off as a as a left winger, becoming one of the club’s top stars, netting a total of 16 goals in his first two seasons.
After turning professional, Manucho signed for Sport Luanda e Benfica, a mid-table club in the Angolan league. He then moved to Luanda-based side Petro Atlético, where he established himself in the side, scoring 16 goals in 2006 and 15 in 2007.
On 21 December 2007, it was announced that Manucho had agreed to sign for English Premier League champions Manchester United. He will join the club in January 2008 on a three-year contract, provided that he is given a work permit by the Home Office.

Latest transfer news are out and Manchester United are said to be making a shock late bid for Arsenal target Luke Freeman.
Media reports says United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping to outbid Arsene Wenger for the 15-year-old talented Gillingham striker.
It is reported that the exciting youngster is on the verge of signing for Arsenal, but Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is desperate to bring him in alongside his ever-growing batch of bright young talents.
Luke Freeman is primarily a forward and first played for local side White Oak Wanderers in Bexley before representing Gravesham and subsequently being signed by Charlton Athletic. He was released by Charlton and joined Gillingham at the age of 11.
Freeman made his first team debut for Gillingham in an FA Cup tie against Barnet on 10 November 2007 aged 15 years and 233 days, replacing Efe Sodje as an 80th minute substitute. His debut set two records, he simultaneously became Gillingham’s youngest ever first team player, and the youngest player ever to appear in the FA Cup, breaking records previously held by Billy Hughes and Lee Holmes respectively.

Tottenham Hotspur set to sign Brazilian defender Gilberto

News are out that Hertha Berlin’s Brazilian defender Gilberto is set to sign for Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur after flying to London for a medical.
The report also added that Berlin’s coach Lucien Favre confirmed that the 31-year-old Brazilian defender was in the English capital at the weekend and the 27-times capped Brazilian looks set to join Spurs for a reported figure of three million euros (4.4 million US dollars).
Tottenham manager Juande Ramos has been short of options in defence due to injuries and Gilberto’s expected arrival should provide cover for Wales defender Gareth Bale, who is out for up to three months with an injured foot.
An experienced left-back, Gilberto, who played for Brazil at the 2006 World Cup, can also play in midfield.
