Melanie Slade is the girlfriend of Arsenal footballer Theo Walcott and the latest addition to the real life “Footballer’s Wives” stable.

When Theo Walcott was surprisingly selected for the England football squad to take part in the 2006 World Cup, despite not having played in the FA Premier League and manager Sven Goran Eriksson admitting to not having seen him in a competitive match, Slade was thrust into the limelight almost simultaneously.

Her good looks and slim figure ensured she became an immediate tabloid favourite and she was photographed with other professional “wives” such as Leilani Dowding, Suzi Walker and Teddy Sheringham’s latest bit of fluff supporting the 2006 Race for Life event organised by Cancer Research.

The bi-annual results of the football marketing study by the University of Navarra and the International University of Catalunya have again been published this week and Manchester United are once again the world’s most popular club.

United has succeeded last year’s No1 club, Real Madrid, which has dropped to fourth position with Chelsea coming in second behind United and ahead of third-place Barcelona.

Besides being the most popular club in the world, United also boast the two biggest names in football - Cristiano Ronaldo at No1 and Wayne Rooney at No2.

Manchester United wants Henrik Larsson,again!!

Reports are out that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is attempting to bring Henrik Larsson back to Old Trafford once again.

Media report claims Ferguson, having learned that it will take £20 million to tempt Spurs into selling Dimitar Berbatov, will call on Henrik Larsson for the second half of the season after the veteran Swede impressed during his three-month loan spell with United last season, when he played a major role in Manchester United’s Premier League title win.

Henrik Larsson’s arrival could be a timely boost as Ferguson could be short of striking options going into the new year, with Louis Saha’s constant injury problems leaving only Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez as first-team forwards.

Inter Milan preparing to bid for Monaco’s Jeremy Menez

Reports are out that Monaco midfielder Jeremy Menez in on the radar of Inter Milan. It has also been said that Inter Milan has sent out their scouts to monitor the player.

It is believed that Menez has been recommended to Inter by midfielder Patrick Vieira and a January bid could be made for the young French playmaker.
