Chelsea interested in Real Madrid’s Royston Drenthe
November 28, 2007
Chelsea FC has recently revealed their interest in Real Madrid’s Royston Drenthe and its football chief Frank Arnesen is monitoring the player’s deteriorating situation at Real Madrid.
It was also revealed that Arnesen and Chelsea’s Dutch football advisor Piet de Visser were both keen on landing Drenthe in the summer from Feyenoord, but Real Madrid managed to sign the player after the U21 European Championships.
It has been reported that Real Madrid are also trying to offload the player who has been surrounded by controversy ever since arriving from Feyenoord. This will be a very good opportunity for Chelsea FC to snap up the talented youngster who can play in all three positions on the left (left back, left winger, left forward).
I believe that when Royston Drenthe actually becomes available in the transfer market, many big teams will be chasing his signature and it will be interesting to see which club the young Dutchmen chooses.
