West Ham in the running to sign Adriano?
August 29, 2007
Inter Milan out of favour Brazilian striker Adriano has been approached by West Ham to sign on a loan deal. The Hammers have expressed their interest in the striker nicknamed “The Emperor” and have sent their chief executive Scott Duxbury to Milan on Tuesday to start talks with the Brazilian ace.
Adriano has been told that he is no longer needed by the Serie A Champions and that he could look for a new club. Adriano was even offered to Premiership giants Arsenal but the move was turned down by the Arsene Wenger despite losing Thierry Henry to FC Barcelona claiming that the squad does not need a player with the qualities of Adriano.
West Ham has been very active in the transfer market since Eggert Magnusson took over the club last season, and the attempt to sign such a famous name is further evidence of the Icelandic businessman’s determination to take West Ham to a whole new level and challenge the top four of the Premier League who has been dominating the league.
