West Ham in the running to sign Adriano?
August 29, 2007
Inter Milan out of favour Brazilian striker Adriano has been approached by West Ham to sign on a loan deal. The Hammers have expressed their interest in the striker nicknamed “The Emperor” and have sent their chief executive Scott Duxbury to Milan on Tuesday to start talks with the Brazilian ace.
Adriano has been told that he is no longer needed by the Serie A Champions and that he could look for a new club. Adriano was even offered to Premiership giants Arsenal but the move was turned down by the Arsene Wenger despite losing Thierry Henry to FC Barcelona claiming that the squad does not need a player with the qualities of Adriano.
West Ham has been very active in the transfer market since Eggert Magnusson took over the club last season, and the attempt to sign such a famous name is further evidence of the Icelandic businessman’s determination to take West Ham to a whole new level and challenge the top four of the Premier League who has been dominating the league.

Spanish radio station Cadena Ser reported on Wednesday that Villarreal’s Argentina midfielder playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme has agreed to sign a two-year deal with Atletico Madrid.
The transfer was not officially confirmed by both clubs but sources close to the player had confirmed the deal. The 29-year-old playmaker fell out of favour with Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini midway through last season and was loaned out to his former club Boca Juniors.
Juan Roman Riquelme went on to inspire the Argentine side to lift their sixth Libertadores Cup crown.

Liverpool in the hunt to sign Julio Baptista?
August 29, 2007
It is believed that Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has set his sights on capturing Brazilian Julio Baptista aka the Beast from Real Madrid with the Reds reportedly have tabled a 20 million euro (£13.5 million) bid for the Brazil international.
Should the deal go through, Baptista would be competing for a place upfront in the Liverpool squad with Fernando Torres, Dirk Kuyt, Andriy Voronin and Peter Crouch.
Why would Liverpool want to sign Baptista? The Brazilian played for Arsenal last season and didn’t quite impress Arsene Wenger and therefore returned to Real Madrid once his loan expired. Would he have a better luck in Liverpool? I’m not quite sure of that because even if he signs for Liverpool, i believe his playing opportunity would be limited.

British football legend Bobby Charlton has named his greatest ever Manchester United team in his autobiography. Sir Bobby picked a best 11 from the 1950s to the present day but found no place for himself in the side. Other Manchester United greats who missed out in Sir Bobby’s team are current stars such as Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Goalkeeper:
Peter Schmeichel (Automatic)
Defenders:
Gary Neville
Denis Irwin
Gary Pallister
Nobby Stiles
Midfielders:
Duncan Edwards
Bryan Robson
Roy Keane
George Best
Strikers:
Eric Cantona
Denis Law
I believe this is possibly the best ever United squad that can be put together but i still feel that Giggs should be in there somewhere..

Ronaldinho to Chelsea?
August 27, 2007
Could Ronaldinho be heading for Chelsea in the next four days?It is being rumoured that Chelsea is considering a record breaking transfer for the two-time World Player of the Year.
With the transfer window closing in a fews days time, rumours are spreading that Roman Abromovich is desperate to bring the Brazilian playmaker to Stamford Bridge and smash the world’s transfer record making Ronaldinho the highest-paid player in football history with a fat 200,00 pounds a week salary which will definitely make him the highest paid footballer in the world.
The agent and brother of Ronaldinho, Roberto de Assis was spotted in London at the Emirates Stadium yesterday for Arsenal’s 1-0 victory Manchester City. He was seen in a private box along with agent Pini Zahavi, who is close to Roman Abramovich, and Kia Joorabchian, the agent of Manchester United ace Carlos Tevez, and speculation is mounting that the Brazilian superstar could be on his way to join the Blues under coach Jose Morinho.
Does Chelsea need more midfielders?I personally don’t think so but it will be certainly interesting to see if this deal will ever go through but it is certainly a mouth watering prospect to be able to see Ronaldinho in Chelsea.
